The project is located on a triangular portion of land, at the junction of North Hanover Street and Dobbies Loan. The site is recognised as a known “gateway” as you enter the city from the north side of Glasgow.
The challenge for Manson was to create a geometric solution that reflected both the “gateway” principle and the boulevard aspiration that the Local Authority have for North Hanover Street. A V-shaped shaped building has been designed with the main entrance facing onto the junction of Kyle Street at Dobbies Loan.
The building is constructed of facing brick with feature precast finishes at the ground floor and higher levels. This forms a civic, colonnade effect which relates to the established townscape setting of Glasgow city centre. The building will be completed in August 2017.
