Works are progressing well on a new 422 bed student accommodation building in the heart of Glasgow. The 22nd storey building developed by CA Ventures with KR Developments is currently being built by Watkin Jones Group who have appointed Manson to complete RIBA Stages 4-7.

Located on the prominent corner of Cathedral Street and North Hanover Street, directly opposite the Buchanan Galleries and within 2minutes walk from Queen Street Station/George Square. The new building is ideally suited for students at the Glasgow Caledonian University, City of Glasgow College and Strathclyde University all of whom have campus buildings within minutes’ walk from the site.

The façade design is bold, primarily clad with natural limestone and aluminium cladding. The ground floor arrival and student amenity spaces are generously proportioned. With accommodation largely contained within the mid floors the top floor is entirely dedicated to student amenity space offering stunning 360 degrees views across the whole city and beyond.

Works are due to complete in time for the academic year commencing autumn 2021.
