Manson were appointed in 2010 to design an office building located on a corner site at the junctions of St Swithuns Road and Christchurch Road.
The site was seen as having a key ‘gateway’ character and was part of the new Bournemouth Lansdowne Area Regeneration Strategy. The Local Authority planning department and local design amenity groups were involved in the early feasibility studies carried out. This proposal forms part of the overall mixed-use masterplan designed by Manson for the Christchurch area.
The building has been designed on seven floors with two stair cores. The curved rhombus shape of the building forms the front of the rectangular mixed-use site and acts as a visual pivot for pedestrians utilising the area. The building is designed as a Grade A office facility with associated underground car parking. We have ensured that all elevations of the building are overlooking either public realm landscaped areas or towards the nodal point of the Christchurch interchange.
