Manson’s appointment with Tesco Stores Ltd. related to a large industrial site situated immediately adjacent to the River Clyde.
Initial discussions with the Planning Authority centred around providing a dynamic destinational solution that visually and physically linked with the existing waterfront masterplan. The river-front walkway and cycle path was continued along the south façade of the new building creating a connection with the adjacent housing developments.
Our solution presented a dynamic cantilevered roof form that emphasises the visual link with the river frontage. The use of timber louvres, copper cladding and large glazed frontages all formed part of the overall design solution.
