Manson were appointed in 2010 to design an overall masterplan for the Lansdowne area in Bournemouth. The area of land to be developed covered a significant part of the western commercial edge of Bournemouth Town Centre stretching from Oxford Road through to Christchurch Road. The quadrant was previously designated by the Local Authority as a tall buildings area that would include academic and office uses.
Our Client team consisted of Watkin Jones Group, Bournemouth University and the Local Authority. Further to this we collaborated with numerous local amenity groups and independent design review bodies.
The proposal covered three sites that were to be developed predominantly as office or academic use with secondary uses that would include student residences, hotel, student hub and underground car parking. Two of the three sites are currently under construction and due for staged completion through 2018 to 2020.
