The proposal includes the creation of an 800 house masterplan extension to the village of Newtown St Boswells. The land is currently not allocated in the Local Plan and will require significant coordination and collaboration with the Local Authority to ensure the optimum design solution is achieved.
Our aim is to incorporate the existing urban grain edges of the village and to ensure maximum permeability and connectivity. The existing topography and landscape structure of the area is a key consideration of the overall masterplan. The relationship with the new urban pattern has been a significant part of our initial feasibility appraisals.
The project will include an area for a new primary school, parklands areas, cycle and footpath woodland walks and a significant additional tree belt. The scheme is currently being progressed through design discussions with the Local Authority and the Client.
