Pittodrie Street, Aberdeen
The project was approved in December 2016. It is the new home for 618 students and was completed in June 2019. The scheme is split between two sites on the north and south of Pittodrie Street and was built in two phases. Manson have designed a scheme that reflects the surrounding character through carefully selected materials; granite, facing brick and gold coloured cladding in the courtyard.
The height, scale and massing of the proposal is sensitive to the adjacent buildings with features such as dormer windows and landscaped perimeter boundaries that ensure the proposal fits seamlessly into the existing street scene.
Manson provided planning support post-approval and worked with Watkin Jones Group and Robertson Construction to purify the planning conditions and make non-material variations to the approved set of planning drawings.
