Davie Street Planning Approval

City of Edinburgh Council has recently granted planning consent for an exciting new development comprising of a retail store and 32 contemporary apartments. This infill project, located between Davie Street and Nicolson Street in Edinburgh, is set to provide an exceptional offering for the local housing market.

The landowner was assisted by Manson, providing architectural and planning consultancy services, which resulted in the successful approval of the planning application back in December of last year. Due to the timing of the committee decision and the subsequent approval of NPF4, the application was recalled and determined by committee for a second time in May 2023. Despite this, the application was once again approved without any opposition, demonstrating the widespread support for this much-needed development.

The site includes the popular Tesco store, which is accessible from Nicolson Street and is a well-loved shopping destination all year round. The decision to retain the retail offering on the ground floor will undoubtedly help to sustain the town centre, while also meeting the needs of the densely populated Southside area.

Overall, this project is an excellent addition to the local community and we look forward to seeing it come to life.
